We all know how dusty this area is, endless cleaning is just part of life here. I got a Roomba, a robotic vac for xmas. This baby is not just a toy, it actually works very well. Just the other day I turned it on before I left my place, my floor was clean when i got back a few hours later. It's kinda expensive, but it is definitely worth it.

Sat, January 1, 2005 - 10:18 PMjust run it couple times while you're at home first, so you know what areas it has probelm with. After you fix those areas, then you can leave it alone and let it do the work. -

Robots taking over the world
Wed, February 23, 2005 - 12:24 PMWhat's next? A robot that will automatically go online and order groceries when the fridge starts to feel empty? (sigh)
I think it's awesome... and a wee bit eerie.

Wed, February 23, 2005 - 12:41 PMI got a Roomba for Xmas, too.
They are the BEST! It really keeps the place clean! Every time I empty it, I am amazed at the amount of dirt it picks up, wow.
Now if I could just program it to go on a killing spree, find Sarah Connor. -

Wed, February 23, 2005 - 2:46 PMHow much dirt can one of those things hold? Can I set it loose in a 8000 sq/ft building and expect it to get the job done?

Re: Roomba, your new best friend.
Thu, February 24, 2005 - 10:23 AMIt holds a lot, but you are supposed to clean it after each use. It fills up with an amazing amount of dirt after just cleaning one large room.
I've seen your space. It's f'n dirty! I would email roomba from the website. I think the higher end one has a sensor and stops when it needs to be cleaned out and will continue from where it left off. The newer one will go and recharge it's batteries if it runs out while cleaning.
Knowing you guys, you could probably rig an external dirt resevoir. Come over any time and check out our Roomba.
Her name is Margarita. -
